Assessment Tools

I was introduced to a great number of assessment tools:

  • Socrative
  • Educanon (also supports group work)
  • Google forms (has many uses)
  • Wix.com (Website platform that can be used to create and handle a class site)
  • Story Bird (students can compose stories, poems, and books)
  • Classmaker (a very good website-tests are graded immediately)
  • Blogs on Wordpress/blogger/
  • Kubbu
  • Engrade.com
  • Wikispace
  • Ixl.com
  • Edmodo
  • Nicenet
  • Hotpotates
  • Edublog
  • Test-moz
  • Padlet
  • Englishteststore.com

I was concerned about the thought:

Are we supposed to use most of them or sticking to one or two is better (for the idea of mastery) ?

The answer we reached that we should have an idea about different tools, identify what our needs are,  read about the tools, make sure it works for our needs.

 In One and two:
  1. Get an idea about the tools.
  2. Think about the best tool that is suitable for your needs.
  3. Read a lot about the tool.
  4. Use the tool.
  5. Remember the tool you choose and may have mastered may fade away by time. Be open to knowing tools.
  6. You do not need to use the tool to the utmost.
  7. You can use one aspect of the tool only if that suffices your need.
  8. Tools are bombarding us as teachers. You should know about them and customize their use according to needs.
  9. Believe in yourself. You are super. You have an idea about nearly twenty tools now and you master the use of two.

Best of luck to us all.
