Talking
about learning to learn, some experts say that that's exactly the area where
THE LEARNER and no one else knows what helps him to memorize (etc) better. But
what if not? Why do learners take part in trainings or even courses
"Learning how to learn"? As a lecturer I know that some students are
simply helpless and hopeless while trying to learn something because nobody
taught them HOW. Some of them memorize information for a short period of time,
but what's the sense of it? I believe, that some learning strategies SHOULD be
taught at school explicitly. Young learners and even small children should be
given a variety of learning strategies so that they can choose what is better for them according to their
psychological and physiological characteristics.
