Story Telling Games

Target Audience: Elementary, Intermediate, Advanced students.

Learning Objectives: This application aims at teaching English . It includes three aspects of English teaching; reading, listening and speaking. The primary focus of the application is to build the students' reading and speaking skills. This is achieved through a simple story telling approach, in which the students listen to the story read aloud while following the corresponding written text. After listening to the story, there is a “Your turn to tell the story” part.

Another variation is the chain story which incorprates writing and reading. The students write the chain stories in  groups of three then they read the story to the class.

In this part, the story is repeated but this time while incorporating interaction from the student. The skills are integrated.

Rewards and Motivation:
The idea of achievement.
The “fun” in the topic: learning English is really fun. It is an easy and widely-used language. Students would learn to use the language to communicate and express their thoughts and ideas.

I think  story-telling is probably one of the most interesting ways to learn English. The students gets to learn the language while being excited about the story events, engaged with the characters, and enjoying the different settings.
