Technology Matching
each Assessment Type
Introduction
Assessment is very important as it
plays a definite role in helping teacher assess their students and their way of
teaching. It is also a way of gathering data. It measures whether the outcome
are met or not. It can help in improving the quality of teaching. Consequently,
teachers must think carefully before choosing an assessment type or assessment
technological tool in order to reach a certain result. In addition, more than
one tool can be used to reach optimum results, and one technological tool can
be used in different assessment types. For best results and in order to really
improve the quality of teaching and learning, variety and multiple kinds of
assessment should be used to collect data. Here are some tools that I currently
use.

Surveys /Google Forms (MCQ)
|
Measures the students needs. The
Survey will include the students' needs and requirements. It will tell a lot
about their supposed level so I can tailor the course according to their
needs. It shows the students background knowledge, they measure what the
students know prior to instruction so they are a helpful tool in creating or
adding up material to the course designed.
The google forms which include a
Multiple Choice Test will show their level of proficiency and so I will know
what I have to recap and I what I need to explain from scratch.

Formative
|
Google Forms/ Quiz Moz (Multiple
Choice Quiz) / Nicenet (Electronic Portfolio)
|
Google forms if given as exercise
then feedback is given students will learn their weakness, and the teacher
would revise/ recap the material most students did not grasp to the full. The
same ideas apply to quizmoz. As for the Nicenet, it is very good at giving
feedback to the students and making them try to work on their weakness and
enhancing their abilities. Both are done during instruction to put hands at
weakness, help students and recap.

Summative

Google Forms/ Quiz Moz (Multiple
Choice Quiz) / Nicenet (Electronic Portfolio)
|
As for the google forms or Quizmoz
multiple choice quizzes they will give me a thorough idea about the level of
the students and what they have attained at the end of the month (the score
is put in the final grade) or the end of the year. As for the nicenet
electronic portfolio, the portfolio they will give me an idea about their
final level of the students in writing and how they developed throughout the
year.

Norm-referenced
|
Google Forms/Online TOFEL Tests
|
Both can be compare the students
results to the institute, national and international standards and see how
things are going.
|
Criterion-referenced
|
Google Forms (Used to test TOFEL /Online
TOFEL Test), Nicenet (Electronic Portfolio following the rubric)
|
They are very good at assessing
the students level according to the criteria
TOFEL level, and there is a reference the students' level can be judged.
|
Interim/benchmarked
|
Google forms/ Quiz Moz
|
The google form can be used for
detecting what the students learned through three or four weeks like wise
tests created on Quiz Moz. The interim or benchmark is very good at testing
whether the students
