Problem Based Instruction

I think the traditional classrooms education is the least effective way for students today to learn. Unless the teacher is actively assessing, it may often be difficult to determine if all learners are actually engaged in the learning activities.  The teachers should be knowledgeable and offer a strong presence and excellent facilitation skills.

Being an adult now I know what I want to learn more about and that I can organize learning to suit my interests and time table. Teenager students also have interest and know what they want to learn. They have tools that can help in the process of learning and teaching their smart phones which they only use to have fun. As such, teachers should train students to use their phones to enhance their educational and professional opportunities. The phone can be a platform for all teaching pedagogy. It can be used for collaborative learning and problem solving, and even in assessment according to the teachers' design.

In the classroom, many are leaning towards more problem-based learning styles, where the teacher is the facilitator and the students are given a real world problem to solve. The student engagement is high and their critical thinking skills are honed to solve the problem. The teacher just facilitates the learning, when and where needed to offer suggestions or guidance.

In "Reading " the learners are required to explore the text, elicitation and strategy are designed to include student participation. Using their phones while doing the task will help them and make them more comfortable. So as teachers try to make the students involved in the task but at same time comfortable by using their phones.
